Food Manufacturing
Are you ready to start learning and earning your way to a bright future with Silver Fern Farms?
There’s more to a career in food manufacturing than you might expect. If you’re on the look-out for an opportunity to be part of something meaningful and build a successful career, we have various career pathways, starting with entry-level jobs needing no experience, with development opportunities into quality control, health and safety, and leadership roles.

We have a variety of roles, including butchers, boners, trimmers, quality assessors, packers, pelt graders, freezer hands, forklift drivers, cleaners, and general labourers.
We also have a number of trades roles and can support you through your apprenticeship with training, mentorship and on-the-job experience. Whether you’re studying to become a Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Electrician, or Services Engineer our site-based roles could be right for you.

Are you ready to create goodness and help shape the future of global food? Then our Plate to Pasture Youth Scholarship could be right for you.
We’re here to meet the future of our industry head on, but we’ll need inspired thinkers with the drive to make real change to get us there. We’re after motivated students looking ahead towards the challenges facing our sector and already thinking up ideas for how to tackle them.
Silver Fern Farms awards six annual $5,000 scholarships to students currently studying towards a recognised qualification and looking to develop their career within the global food sector.
