Meet Hamish

Hamish, Early Careers Professional (Marketing)

I have loved the opportunity to work across different functions and learn new skills from a variety of people.

The Early Careers Program has allowed me to listen, learn and contribute across a number of functions. It has given me the opportunity to pick up valuable skills along the way such as business analysis and building recommendations to support the development of key categories and brands.

The support received in the program made me feel immediately welcome and comfortable amongst my new colleagues. You have continuous support from your sponsor and manager, and you also have a mentor who you can ask any questions you may have, no matter how big or small.

Meet Josiah

Josiah, Graduate Program

There are maybe a million reasons to feel apprehensive when applying for a new experience or
that next step in your career journey. Mine were: What if I’m not good enough? and What if I don’t like it?

The best graduate programs are the ones that break these apprehensions on day one.

At Goodman Fielder I have found a community of innovative thinkers who are passionate about their brands and who genuinely want to see you succeed. Throughout the Grad program I had the opportunity to hone my critical, strategic, and analytical skills by working on a number of high priority projects across multiple business functions. The hands-on workshops, informative seminars, and approachability of my mentor, created a great learning environment.  I love my job and although I’m constantly learning, I’ve never not felt good enough to add value.

The GF Graduate Program represents a great opportunity to start a stellar career.

Internships

Goodman Fielder are proud to partner with Career Seekers and Career Trackers, providing internships to create bright futures.

Career Seekers is a non-profit organisation supporting Australia’s humanitarian entrants into professional careers. The program supports both refugees and people seeking asylum who are either currently studying at university or looking to restart their professional career in Australia.

Career Trackers is a non-profit with the goal of creating pathways and support systems for Indigenous young adults to attend and graduate from university with high marks and industry experience.

The internships provide team members an opportunity to gain experience in a corporate environment in an area matched to their experience or area of study.

Applications for internships are managed directly by Career Seekers and Career Trackers.

Meet Josephine

Josephine, Product Information Technologist (R&D)

These internships have opened doors to opportunities that may not have existed without them.

My introduction to Goodman Fielder was through the CareerTrackers Program. I was very fortunate to be involved in three internships throughout my university studies and my internship areas were matched based on my area of study.

The knowledge, skills and experience I gained from these internships were immeasurable. The practical and theoretical learnings taught at university came to life through these internships. I cannot express how grateful I am for the teams I worked alongside, that provided a supportive environment, allowing me to grow on an individual and professional level. They have provided industry experience, business knowledge and operations and have greatly contributed to myself gaining a permanent position within the business.

You should describe a specific event or situation, and be sure to give enough detail for the interviewer to understand what occurred. This situation can be from a previous job, from a volunteer experience, or any other relevant event.
  • Action you took: Describe the action you took. Ensure you keep the focus on you – even if you are discussing a group project, describe what you personally delivered.
  • Results you achieved: How did the event end? What did you accomplish? What did you learn?
