We are Griffin’s Snacks! We’re proudly owned by Intersnack, a privately owned company founded in Germany in 1968.

Intersnack has a large portfolio of local and international snack brands, from potato chips, nuts, and baked products to specialty snacks and are present in over 30 countries across Europe, Australia, New Zealand and beyond. Intersnack is passionate about enriching people’s lives with the right choice of great-tasting snacks. Every day, more than 15 million consumers around the globe enjoy our products!

Although internationally owned, here at Griffin’s, we are also proudly local! We manufacture great-tasting products at our two factories in South Auckland, New Zealand. For over 150 years, we’ve been making some of New Zealand’s favourite biscuits, crackers, potato chips and nut bars. It’s been a pretty delicious journey, but for us, it’s been about more than just the food. Ever since John Griffin opened our first factory early in the 19th century, our communities have mattered to us too. Here at The Griffin’s Food Company, we’re about getting stuck in and helping where we can so everyone gets the chance to share in our passion for life and food.

Our Brands

Here at Griffin’s, New Zealand’s favourite biscuit bakers, we’ve been delighting Kiwis’ taste buds for over 150 years. Whether it is a seriously dunkable Gingernut or a truly indulgent ToffeePop, everyone has a favourite Griffin’s bikkie!

Although we’re most well known throughout New Zealand for our Griffin’s biscuits (and our famous Griffin’s Cookie Bear), we do also own a range of other snacking brands with many delicious products…

Almost all of our products are proudly made by our people here in New Zealand at our two manufacturing sites in South Auckland – made by passionate kiwis for other kiwis to enjoy!

Careers at Griffin’s

Many people talk about the ‘world of FMCG’ (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), but when we dig a little deeper, we often find that the amazing range of career opportunities that are available in this industry surprises people!

Here at Griffin’s, we employ around 700 people across New Zealand, and every single one plays a key part in keeping our business moving – from unloading great quality New Zealand-grown potatoes at our Wiri factory to creating the recipe for our next delicious product, to physically operating the machines that make our great products to ensuring our delicious treats are available at a store near you! We’re truly passionate about growing our people and really walk the talk on internal development, and supporting our team to build their careers within the company!

Below are some of the teams we have at Griffin’s and examples of the types of roles that make these up…

  • Manufacturing Operations – this team are focused on the actual ‘making’ of our products and are usually based at our factories. Opportunities include Packers, Machine Operators, Electricians, Engineers, Quality Assurance Technologists, Line Leaders, Health & Safety Advisors, Manufacturing Managers, Site Managers
  • Supply Chain & Logistics – working across our sites and offices, this team ensure that we have sourced and stored the high-quality ingredients and materials we need and that these raw materials are where they need to be to enable our Manufacturing Operations team to meet their production targets. Opportunities here include Store people/Warehouse Team, Procurement Managers, Materials Planners – we even have an Agronomist – a potato specialist who ensures the best possible potatoes are sourced for our chips!
  • Innovation/New Product Development – based at our manufacturing sites and working in big commercial kitchens, this team focuses on creating the recipes, running trials and designing the technical packaging for our products. Opportunities include positions such as Graduate Food Technologist, Graduate Packaging Technologist, Production Development Technologists, Project Managers, New Production Development Managers.
  • Sales – this team work with a range of customers every day to ensure that our products are always available for consumers are looking to purchase for snacking options. Opportunities in sales include everything from Merchandisers and Territory Managers out ‘in the field’ around the country, to our office-based team in roles like Customer Services, Category Executives, Key Account Managers, Business Managers and Sales Director!
  • Commercial Support Functions – to ensure all of our manufacturing site and field-based teams have the support they need to be set up for success, we have a range of support teams partnering with them daily. These include Marketing, Human Resources, Finance and IT.

Entry-level opportunities at Griffin’s

Although many of our roles require specific technical skills and experience, we do also have a range of roles that we consider ‘entry level’ as they don’t require any proven experience – for these roles we look for a great attitude, reliability and willingness to learn! These roles include Packers, Machine Operators and Merchandisers.

We also have a range of opportunities for graduates who have specific qualifications. These are advertised as and when available and can include roles such as Graduate Food Technologist, Graduate Packaging Technologist, Graduate Digital Marketing and Shopper Executive.

Over recent years, we’ve also proudly taken part in the FMCG Futures Internship Programme, offering a range of paid summer internships to students interested in getting a taste of the world of FMCG. To date, we’ve offered these internships within functions including Marketing, Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Operations and IT.
