The Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n

As of 27th January 2023, Downer Energy are thrilled to announce that we are one of the two delivery partners who have won the WEL contract. WEL is an electricity distribution business connecting over 95,000 households and businesses in the Waikato region through maintaining the network of power lines, poles and underground cables and technology.<\/p>\n

The contract allows Downer to create 26 job opportunities for talented people to help us deliver the Construction Services Minor and Major Capital Works for WEL Networks.<\/p>\n

As we grow our team, it allows those who are skilled, the ability to pass knowledge, coach, and upskill those interested in a Line Mechanic trade. We have two Trainee Line Mechanic opportunities, but we will increase this number depending on the volume of interested applicants.<\/p>\n

Downer will pay for all your training and courses, and after two years you will be a qualified Line Mechanic, being able to work unsupervised in the areas of construction, maintenance and fault diagnosis\/rectification of all power line network equipment and installations.<\/p>\n

These are full-time, permanent roles paying between $25.00 \u2013 $30.00 p\/h based on experience. Overtime and allowances will be available when required.<\/p>\n

The successful candidate will have\u00a0a genuine interest in becoming a qualified Line Mechanic in a reasonable timeframe and\u00a0be committed to providing high-quality work and excellent customer service.<\/p>\n
