Hamilton City Council is the territorial local authority for Hamilton, incorporating an elected governance arm of the Mayor and 12 Councillors, and more than 1,300 operational staff.<\/p>\n
The Council delivers core services and facilities to the city and its residents, ranging from roads, water and wastewater, rubbish collection, parks, playgrounds, walking paths to Hamilton Zoo, Waikato Museum, Hamilton Gardens and our suite of international sporting and event venues \u2013 FMG Stadium Waikato, Seddon Park, and Globox Arena (Claudelands) \u2013 and the isite Visitor Information Centre.<\/p>\n
The Council also has a key role in stimulating an active community and a busy arts and culture scene,\u00a0 helping migrants and new settlers feel at home in our city, and assisting community organisations through a range of funding schemes groups can apply for.<\/p>\n
As the city continues to grow and welcome new residents, the Council has begun rolling out a range of plans considered important to the city’s development \u2013 the Central City Transformation Plan, the River Plan and the Hamilton Plan.<\/p>\n
