The Role

The successful candidate will be based at Mainfreight’s Botany/Banksmeadow site within the Transport team. The Transport team has approximately 8-10 team members and has a wide mix of team members from high school leavers, university graduates, and seasoned operators so your ability to learn will be endless. The role will allow the successful candidate to start learning the wharf operations liaising with shipping lines obtaining time crucial Electronic Delivery Orders. As a Transport Administrator you will be starting from the entry-level of our business with the expectation that over time you will progress upwards and outwards with the many different channels of the Mainfreight business. We are looking for a candidate that is not only willing to learn, but someone that wants something more than a simple 9 to 5 job – a chance to enter a truly global business where the only direction is to move forward.

Some of the core business functions you will be exposed to will be:

• Prompt liaising with shipping lines and external freight forwarding agents
• Obtaining time crucial documents for container release from terminal (EDO)
• Basic Accounts payable duties – paying out shipping line tax invoices
• Some customer service interaction required over phone

Requirements for the Role

The successful candidate will be required to have a can-do attitude with a sense of urgency and an eagerness to learn from the ground up. The applicant will also be expected to have:

• Previous experience in team sports and/or retail/customer service work favoured but not necessary
• Impeccable presentation
• Finished year 12
• Sense of urgency
• Willingness to learn
• Willingness to learn!!!
