About the role

This role is responsible for providing high-level counselling interventions across the programs offered by Uniting Counselling & Mediation.  Under delegation from the UCM Centre Manager, Parramatta, and the UCM Counselling Specialist and Child Inclusion Practice Specialist, this role will provide clinical supervision to Uniting Counselling staff within the Anchor Program and Youth & Family Counselling Program.  This role will also provide assistance in the operation and promotion of Uniting Counselling & Mediation and its services in the region, as directed by the UCM Centre Manager, Parramatta. 

This position is offered on a Permanent Part-time basis working 4 days a week.

About you

  • High level clinical supervision skills (minimum two years’)
  • Extensive experience delivering child, youth and family therapy, preferably with Family Law matters or Targeted Early Intervention matters
  • Superior case management and assessment skills
  • Competence in working with issues of family violence and child protection
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high conflict individuals and families with complex issues
  • Excellent communication, organisation and report writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as be able to contribute to the smooth functioning of a team
  • Computer literacy

Even better:

  • Accredited post graduate training in individual or family therapy
  • Eligibility for membership to relevant professional bodies (eg. AASW, APS, PACFA)
  • Previous experience in team leadership or management role
  • Experience working with court ordered and involuntary clients
  • Prior experience in group facilitation with youth group work programs
  • Experience and expertise in program promotion and liaison
  • Familiarity with the Family Law Act and other relevant legislation (eg. Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act
