Are you up for the challenge of protecting the Air Force’s most important aircraft, equipment and people? You’ll join a close-knit and highly skilled team working in a variety of environments, often outdoors and in diverse conditions.
Working with qualified Airfield Defence Guards, you will learn how to handle weapons, experience what it’s like to conduct foot and vehicle patrols, construct field defenses and obstacles, plus undertake search and clearance operations.

Life in the Air Force Gap Year Program

During your 12-month role and on completion of training, you’ll receive a salary package starting from $66,544.
In addition to your salary, you will receive generous superannuation, housing subsidies and free medical and dental care.
For this role, you must be aged between 17-24 years old to apply, an Australian Citizen, hold a provisional Drivers Licence (minimum) and have completed Year 12, with passes in Year 10 English and Maths.
